Machine Vision Systems in COREF
COREF aims to demonstrate how both an enterprise and low-cost machine vision system integrates with your existing industrial infrastructure to automate quality inspection in your manufacturing process.
The aim is to demonstrate that making this integration enhances the benefits of machine vision systems, reduces the load on operators and generates data that can be used with other technologies (such as Machine Learning) to continue to drive improvements.
COREF has funded a manufacturing cell at the NITC and the Thales Belfast lab to demonstrate enterprise and low-cost vision system capabilities.
The NITC have investigated and documented the levels of implementation, from Basic to World Class and have scanned the horizon for the future capabilities of the technology. The NITC have worked in collaboration with Mestec and C2K to show how to achieve the integration of Vision Systems with Edge Gateways and MES systems. Finally, NITC and Mestec have demonstrated the sharing of image data between them using the MQTT protocol, an approach not yet demonstrated in industry.
The next milestone is to show through the running of functional demonstrations what the capability of the vision systems are.
Knowing that COREF can aid you in understanding what is on the market, determining the right type of vision system for the parties specific use case and the skills that they will need in order to implement.
COREF can provide hands-on experience of state-of-the-art in Machine Vision Systems or show you how to create your own from a Raspberry-Pi. And demonstrate the benefits of both.
