Cobotics in COREF

Cobots are still relatively new to the market, with an estimated market growth of 20% per annum.

With Cobotics being a growing technology, COREF will assisting in educating people around this technology to understand use cases and the benefits of this technology.

A manufacturing cell is currently being built by Loop Technology (a robotics system integrator), which will allow automation concepts to be prototyped in a research and development environment.

A detailed review on the equipment available has allowed COREF to purchase a FANUC CRX10i cobot, due to its ease of use and integrate functions with additional equipment (sensors & end effectors).

The next milestone is for the cell to be installed in the lab in Belfast and complete training for users, allowing use cases for the technology to be development.

COREF is working to improve the knowledge of Cobots emerging technology to allow parties to implement this technology to improve processes.
